About Moody Park Summer Basketball:

The Moody Park Summer Basketball Leagues have been in existence for 40 years. The leagues began in 1978 under the leadership on Former Ewing High School Coach Emil Wandishin . Founded on the basis of giving Ewing Township kids a place to play Recreational Team Basketball during the summer . In approximately 2000, Moody Park went under the direction of Randy “B” Barlow and Mark T. (Coach Smitty) Smith , and in 2007 Mark Smith took over the reigns as the League’s Commissioner.The league attracts over 1,000 fans per night . Playing four games simultaneously, four nights per week , Monday through Thursday during the summer . The league runs from the beginning of June to the end of July . Games are played at Moody Park in Ewing Township, NJ . The park has a 4 court lighted facility and is located on the corners of Buttonwood Drive and Parkside Avenue.The league features players from third to eleventh grade with various high school teams from the Tri-State Area participating . There are over 700 players in the leagues today .Famous alumni of the league includes Frantz Massenat ( Drexel) , Rondae Jefferson (Arizona) , Lavoy Allen ( Temple- 76ers )and Briyona Canty ( Rutgers). The league is currently coordinated by Mark T. Smith (Coach Smitty) and his family.
